Problem with installing heat sink

Hey,

I'm in the process of building my first computer and after I installed the heat sink, I took it off by accident. I never turned on the computer, so I don't think it should have caused the thermal grease to "activate" and I just put the heat sink back onto the CPU the same way it was. Should that be fine or do I need to apply new thermal grease?
