Is it possible to use a 133MHz ram dimm on my 100MHz motherboard?

ok thx and will it work if I put a 128/133 dimm next to two 32/66 bars on a 66 mainboard?

Probably.. but processor you running on 66Mhz FSB? Or are you taking that PC-66 RAM out of specs, running it at 100Mhz?

I have two pc's an athlon with a 100 mhz fsb equipped with 2*128/100, and a PII 233 on a 66 mhz fsb (really, it was one of the first before they switched to 100) equipped with 2*32/66, I want to put a 128/133 dimm in both pc's.
So if I understand it right my 133 ram can run on anything lower than 133 depending on the mainboard it's plugged in? Using different size dimms doesn't matter anymore (I remember you had to watch that in earlier times)?

damn I meant ahtlon on 200 mhz fsb offcourse but the mainboard is a 100 mhz one (asus k7m) so no support for the 133 ram

You can always edit your post when you say anything wrong though... no need for another new post

I heard some people saying that mixing different speed-types of ram may lead to incompatibilities... true?

The memory mhz specs is their MAXIMUM speed. So PC133 won't run higher than 133 mhz... you can make it run at 66 mhz if you want... there is "no" minimum speed...

Of course, but the ram is going to be underclocked. But it's a good investment if you plan on getting a PC133 motherboard. I just wouldn't suggest using pc100 ram with pc133 ram on a 133mhz bus board. it'll slow you down.
