Matching RAM with processor

I got the Intel i7-3720QM for my new laptop. What spec on the processor do I look at in order to buy the correct speed of RAM? Back in the old days the RAM was matched with the FSB, but FSBs don't exist anymore.

Also, I read somewhere that buying 1.35V RAM is more power efficient than 1.5V RAM. Is this true? And if so, will I actually notice a difference in battery life?
