Hey guys,

This is gonna be my first time building a computer and I just wanted you guys to do a quick check just to make sure all of the components are compatible and fine.

Intel Core i3 2100

Gigabyte GA-H61M-USB3-B3

G Skil Ripjaws 4gb (2x2gb) 1333 Mhz

Coolermaster CM 690 II Lite Case

600W Coolermaster Silent Pro M PSU

1TB Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3,

Sony AD-7260S-0B 24x DVD±R, 12xDVD±DL, DVD+RW x8/-RWx6 ,12xRAM SATA, Black, OEM

XFX AMD RADEON 6870 Black Edition

Windows 7 OEM

(I know this is a bit off-topic) I was also wondering what frame rates would I get when playing graphically intensive games on MAX settings like Crysis 2, Battlefield 3 etc. at 1366x768 resolution using the above card.

Thanks everyone.

Although I am not a fan of Coolermaster in general, the parts you have selected will have no trouble with games at that resolution. In fact, if you have no plans to increase that resolution, you could save money by getting a less expensive GPU, like a HD6770. At lower resolutions, a larger proportion of the "effort" required by your PC will be done by the CPU. You may want to consider an i5-2300.

I am not a fan of CM PSU's, but that one is actually decent, but not spectacular and it's modular.

I agree with jtt283, the 6870 is over kill for that resolution. you could scale it down some to a 6850 or a 6770/5770 and upgrade the CPU to a i5-2300/2400 with the savings.
