Hello! :hello:

I am looking to upgrade the motherboard, cpu, memory in my computer. Currently it has a pentium D 3.2 ghz thats just not cutting it for me anymore. I want to use my old Hp case that can only fit micro atx boards, and the 300w psu.

I plan on keeping my 500gb sata hd and Nvidia Gt240 1gb ddr5 graphics card, its fine as I am a light PC gamer, I have a PS3.

The programs I run: I do plan to program in Python (when I learn it), FruityLoops 10, Minecraft Bukkit server (It's multithreaded), AutoCAD, internet browsing, youtube, folding at home (i want moar ppd!), blender, itunes

I have a very tight budget of less than $350 to spend...

I plan on overclocking the CPU,

How does this setup sound?

- Phenom II x4 955 3.2 Ghz 119$

- Asus m5a88-m am3+ mobo 109$

- Patriot G2 2x4gb (8gb) ddr3 1600mhz 79$ (59$ with rebate)

- Cooler Master n520 fan $29.99

GRAND TOTAL $348.60

Other recommendations? I would love to get an Intel 2500k but I cant.

this is a better AM3+ MB for a single GPU
ASUS M5A87 AM3+ AMD 870

you are most likely going to need a new psu. The AMD quad core and the gts240 will give it a heart attack.
this is a good inexpensive off brand PSU. it will run the quad core and even a bigger GPU
XIGMATEK NRP-PC Series ACXTNRP-PC402 400W

not sure where you found a CM n520 for $30, but buy it. they are $50 on newegg.

I'd suggest for $350 you can save a bit going with an Athlon II X3 450 for $80, then pick up the Xigmatek 400 for $40.
