HyperV Test and Workstation

Hello Ladies and Gentleman,

I am looking for a box which I can test Hyper-V on which means it needs to have Intel VT Technology apparently. When the testing is done I want a good system for business and some light to medium gaming/multi-media.

I am leaning towards pre-built as opposed to building my own unless there is a 30-40% savings to building my own.

It looks like there are two ways to go:

1. Workstation - Xeon Processor which has the VT technology. Dell quoted me a 12 gig system in the $1,500 range.

2. PC Core-I7's seem to have the VT technology for Hardware Virtualization as well.

I want to stay in the $1,000 to $1,400 maximum range in price and I am looking for ideas and recommendations.

Thanks for the collective wisdom!
