Crysis 2 will kill that laptop.

For the price you spend on this you can get a desktop that's 3 times as fast and a laptop.

It'll be comparable to a $400 desktop for gaming.

The point is why don't you get a desktop and a laptop for the same price and you not only get better performance, but the laptop doesn't need to be a 17" POS to lug around with a horrible battery life.

If you're not gaming a $400-500 laptop will be sufficient and then you have a much more powerful desktop for when you do game.

The graphics for the laptop you picked will be outperformed by a GTX 550 Ti, an entry level desktop video card for games.

if you could recommend a better gaming laptop then that, that comes under 2,000 with tax and shipping included that would be great that one came in at $1,686.10

From experience everyone I know who got DTRs felt really stupid halfway through the first semester. You can get a $500 laptop and have a $1000 monster desktop (and still afford a monitor).

If you're concerned about LANing I'd get a Micro-ATX setup.

If you're really determined to get a gaming laptop go sit on http://slickdeals.net/
