Hd radeon 5770 updating issues

Hello,
After having my XFX Radeon 5770 in my PC for over 9 months it will not update correctly. When I do update the card, both screens go black and I have to reboot in safe mode and recover to the previous day. Why all of a sudden is my card not updating?

What is the version of the driver that works ? Is it from AMD of XFX ?

Do you properly uninstall the old drivers and install the new ones ?

The new updates have a different version of the CCC so you need to make sure you are uninstalling the previous version before installing the new one. Otherwise it opens during boot and you can not uninstall it properly because the system is using it and the new installer will not update the CCC properly.

Please be patient with me as I am not sure how to remove old drivers. I am not very good with PC's so I am still a NOOB (as my son calls me). Should I remove all ATI updates?

SUAT, I am sure it is ATI. I have never down loaded from XFX website before.

JD Fan, I didn't uninstall any old drivers as I am didn't this needed to be done. Why doesn't ATI make this know to all users?

I guess I need to delete all ATI files and just down load the latest drivers available?
