Hey guys,
I, like so many people here recently, have decided to taken it upon myself to build a new gaming computer. Here is the list of things I have:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

MoBo: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw series 4gb http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

GPU: GTX 460 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Hard drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

CD/DVD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I need help choosing a nice case as well as a powerful enough powersupply to power gtx 460 in sli and the new processors by AMD.

I guess my main concern was getting the 955, a cheaper processor, so I can upgrade to Bulldozer in the future. Any suggestions and tips are appreciated

Thanks!

Trade that 460 for a 6870.

What would be the rationale behind that?

Also, is it smart to get the 955 and upgrade the cpu later when bulldozer is released? or should I just go ahead and get the i5 2500k?

Get this video card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
GTX 560 non-Ti for $170 shipped plus rebate. Best card for the price, faster and cheaper than what you picked out.

You really should go with an i3-2100 + LGA1155. It'll be much faster in games than what you picked out and use significantly less wattage (60W). In fact, the i3-2100 is faster than AMD's fastest chip, the Phenom II 980 BE:

Look towards the bottom for games.

I would wait until the end of August personally for an AMD build. I think AMD is a solid route, just it can't compete with Intel right now. At the end of August, that is the expected date for BD to arrive. Course details will be released the 24th.

If you can't wait I can understand since it is a while.

Browsing the world, what happens if he OC the 980 BE also you should see the new AMD cpu, I bet you ati new series will be top line the 5000 series had like x2 more sales than the 200 series.

Still allergic to grammar I see.

The 980BE costs much more than the i3, I was just using the benchmark to show the i3-2100 will beat a Phenom II at 3.7ghz. If he were looking into spending that much on a CPU he can get an i5-2400 which will destroy any Phenom II on water or air.
