Can anyone tell me if a processor can still perform the same after few years of intensive gaming ? The processor in question is a E5200 @2,5 Ghz, the system had a 1 GB 9500 GT video card, I dunno the rest of the specs.

I want to buy the afore mentioned second hand processor and I want to know if it is worth 30 dollars.

CPU's - especially Intel ones are designed for long life spans, thats not to say the previous owner hasnt damaged it with aggressive overclocking - but the chances are very very small.

Really to see any processor degradation the processor would have to have been overclocked for years with poor cooling. In most cases Intel® processors are going to be outlast everything else in the computer.
