Just installed a DQ45EK mini-itx motherboard in a HP Pavilion Slimline computer and everything works great, except after I turn it off, it will periodically start and shut down for a few seconds. Only the fans and a red blinking light are on during this time. Does anyone know what is causing this problem?

MB: Intel DQ45EK
OS: Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit
CPU: E5200
Ram: 4GB Kingston HyperX PC2-6400 DDR2-800 (2x2GB)
Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500
PSU: FSP Group FSP200-50PLA2-SL 200W Power Supply for HP Pavilion Slimline
Case: HP Pavilion Slimline.

i too have the same problem, and its driving me crazy trying to figure it out. i reconfigured the bios in different ways, swapped power supplies, swapped cases, swapped usb network adaptors, changed cmos battery and have been researching with no avail. only differences are that is seems to only happen for a second or two and my optical drive lights up along with them, red light blinks, then all quiet.

Mb intel dq45ek
cpu e2200
ram adata 6400
psu ultra ultvx-400

i'm still bent on trying to figure is out, just letting you know your not alone... i am suspicious of the "active management tech", but other than that, i am stuck...what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

forgot to mention i am running fresh copies of ubuntu 12.04 and mint 12, so this problem probably a hardware related issue...

I went into the bios and turned off or disabled the AMT (IntelĀ® Active Management) and my problem was solved.
