Help Please! Ram problem

Hi there, im running a AMD PHENOM(tm) 2X4 955 Processor 3.20GHz and i have a 32bit system and running windows 7 although i dont know wheather its a real copy as i got this second hand yesterday. I have 8 GB Ram but it says 8.00 GB (3.25 GB useable) I really want to know why and to fix this , im not the smartest guy around so if someone could step by step me through this to fix it i would be grateful Thanx in Advance

From what I know there is some kind of cap on RAM in the 32 bit version of Windows 7, not sure how to get around it though or if you can :-/

it is simple...you are running a 32bit operating system and the max that a 32 bit OS can handle is 3 gigs, and majority of the time they only play nice with 2 gigs. Upgrade to a 64 bit operating system and all 8 gigs should show up and be utilized.
