2009 Intel Centrino (1.4GHz) ripoff?

I was wondering would a laptop with 2GB of ram and a 1.4GHz Intel Centrino 2 processor be worth itself at 3K??

This laptop was sold to me by my school and I personally think this price was overkill! Especially considering my dad has a new shiny Vaio which has full HDMI (he's using a 22"~ screen) for roughly the same price. Oh yeah, and to top off the deal I got a lovely piece of cracking plastic enclosing the device (my friend actually had part of his hinge break off and cut a monitor cable inside the laptop).

For this price and fully working in good condition, bite the sellers hands off.

Toshiba, I actually bought it through a 'education' company who apparently knock the prices off everything.

Oh and the price is roughly 2370 USD however the exchange rate just took a huge drop (I think at a point it would have been 3200 USD).
