Solved

New build, first timer.

I am planning on building a new computer. This is what I have right now, I was wondering if this would be good, and have room for future improvement.

Corsair Vengeance (2x4g) and Corsair power supply. 600 w

Would this power supply be able to run this graphics card? Is this mobo a good mobo? I have looked at some reviews and it seems like a decent mobo.

If there are any upgrades you believe I should have please tell me! My budget is $800-850, lower the better!

Thanks!!!

  1. Great setup, only the PSU might not be sufficient for future SLI options and overclocking as well. If you're not planning on SLI, it will probably last years though, so go for it and enjoy!
  2. How much would you reccomend for overclocking?
  3. Grab a Corsair TX750W if you want SLI setup.
  4. I'd rather recommend the Huntkey X7. It's modulated, 900W and a great PSU alltogether. The Huntkey range generally sucks, but the X7 is a lonely warrior, fighting a very good battle. It's actually on par with Corsair, Antec and Cooler Master PSU's (not the Xtreme Power series).

900 is huge overkill, a quality 600W psu would allow you to overclock your current setup easily. Corsair makes one of the best psu around so you are good there. If you were going to sli, you would be pushing but you would be okay. http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=2006&pageID=10203

I would personally go with the HX 750, it is modular and high quality.
  6. Yeah I thought the X7 to be cheaper, thus I recommended it. But after double-checking prices I figured it to be too expensive to justify the unneeded power. HX750 would be a great choice.
