hello everyone,

I am looking for an affordable graphics card for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, doesn't matter if its Nvidia or AMD, it should be good enough to handle FSX at 1280 X 1024 screen resolution with all scenery and graphics sliders maxed and also with addons like REX, ORBX and PMDG. I don't use traffic while playing FSX. So far, here are some of my concerns:

Radeon HD 5770
Radeon HD 6850
Geforce GTS 450
Geforce GTX 550ti.

I don't care about overclocking and GPU should be able to force AA and AF. Here are rest of my specifications:

CPU: Intel core i7 2600K @ 3.40 GHZ
Motherboard: ASUS P8H67-V
RAM: Transcend 4 GB DDR-3 @ 1333 MHZ
HDD: Seagate 500GB
GPU: onboard intel HD 3000 (sucks)
Power supply unit: 600 Watts SMPS with 6 + 2pins power connector and many other.

any help would be appreciated.

thanking you,
Prakhar Tripahti

Well out of the list you have there, id say the Radeon HD 6850 is the option! That should handle Flight simulator maxed out any day. To be honest all the gpu's you got there should handle it without a sweat. Flight simulator is VERY cpu reliant and with that Core i7 you should be fine. But yeah, you should definatly change that onboard HD 3000.

I just got an i7 based laptop that only has the intel graphics 3000. It runs MSFS X at the highest settings fine. it also does my HD Video editing great. I can still return this and get one that also has the Radeon 6770M for $275 more. This is the only game I ever play. My question is whether the intel graphics hd 3000
alone will be able to handle the new upcoming version "Microsoft Flight"?
