Lagging with Dual ATI Radeon HD 6870s

It's exactly as the thread topic states. I just bought a new computer with Dual ATI Radeon HD 6870s with Crossfire X and when i start playing a game like Starcraft II, i lag like crazy. Does anyone know what might be the source of this?

Here's my computer if you need:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600k CPU @3.40 GHz overclocked to 4.1 GHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1333 MHz
Dual ATI Radeon HD 6870s with CrossfireX
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Operating system.

Does it lag with only one card? If one card performs normally, it's probably a driver issue.

i tried opening up the catalyst control center to check that but for some reason it won't open now.
