New processor not booting

Might need a bios update before the cpu can run properly

Hello,

I just installed a phenom II quad core in my ASUS M3A79-T Deluxe AM2+/AM2 AMD motherboard.

I checked that the motherboard and cpu are compatible and the ram.

I reset the motherboard.

It's still not booting, not even getting the beep.

bios is updated. New processor reinstalled, motherboard reset.

Now receiving a beep code of 1 long + 2 short

Assistance please : / this is a new one for me

Ok, it seems to mean a video adapter error....I reseated the vid card, and double checked my monitors. Any suggestions?

Check to make sure there are no bent pins.

and solved.

Reseated all my ram. Now is booting and appears to run fine.
