hello all

I own an hd 6850 toxic from sapphire and i am connecting my lcd using dvi to vga converter to one of the dvi outputs( first connection )

my card outputs are :

DL-DVI-I

SL-DVI-D

Mini Display Port x 2

HDMI

and VGA (Via included adaptor)
----------------------------------------

to use eyefinety as i know it must have one connected in a display port output so one of the mini display ports must be used in my card , the card was provided with a " Mini DP to DP Adapter " and i will buy the " Sapphire 44000-01-40R Active DisplayPort to VGA adapter " for 57 $ i will connect through it a cheap VGA READY LCD .( third connection )

1- is this connection correct ??
2- for now ( second connection ) i will buy a DVI-D ready lcd but i am confused , i dont know how to use dual link dvi output in my card
i even dont know if the ( first connection ) is connected to the dual or single link

please help me to know if the dvi-d ready lcd would work if i connected it in DL-DVI-I and in SL-DVI-D ???

I think dual link is about resolution only

My 9800GT has a single link and a dual link and to this day I'm not sure which is which because both of my monitors are 1080p and under

bellow is some googling- you should write to sapphire about this but you could easily test dual when you plug the 2560 x 1600 monitor in

thnx baverdi,

i am talking with sapphire and waiting there reply
but may i ask , as i was googloing about this ( regardless the dual or single link )
is this statment correct :

There is an 2 DVI ports of 6850. the 1st one is a DVI-I which supports a VGA to DVI adapter.
The 2nd one is a DVI-D which does not support an adapter and you need to have a monitor with DVI cable output in
order to make it work.

??

if it is like that then because dvi-i supports both analog and digital and dvi-d supports only digital as far as i know
so the dvi ready lcd wich i ordered will work what ever is the output

??
