The Hd6870 is supposed to idle at a core clock of 100Mhz, but mine idles at 300Mhz. It doesn't seem to be too much of a problem, but I was wondering how to get it to a regular idle clock.

I have/use only one monitor, BUT I am using a DVI to VGA adapter. This happens even when I have nothing but GPU-Z open.

Catalyst 11.4
W7 64-bit
(HIS) HD6870

My memory clock also jumps up to 1050Mhz when I have a Youtube video running. Is that normal?

Thanks.

Solution
Im not 100% sure on this but I thought there was a driver update that bumped up the core clock idle speed due to poor desktop performance at such a low idle speed. I wouldnt worry bout it if i were you if everything works properly.
