G Guest Guest Nov 15, 2000 #2 Toshiba SD-M1401 SCSI DVD is good but expansive (aroun $140 maybe a little less). My choice and advice go for Pioneer DVD-115 16x/10x (around $95).

G Guest Guest Nov 15, 2000 #3 See www.cdspeed2000.com because i have found some good info there too. The Aopen DVD 1640 (Pro) or the Pioneer 105S look great! (PS, i have nothing to do with cdspeed2000.com, i just think it is a great site).

G Guest Guest Dec 11, 2000 #5 update! i have an Pioneer 105S and it is rather fast, but not as fast as cdspeed2000 said.. it is about 8x instead of 11x... and also look at the noise the drive makes and the way it handles scratched disks and audio cd's... the pioneer is rather loud when playing DVD's. But this drive can be made "region-free" !
