Hi.. My question is.. can we use laptops processor in desktop (same socket). I have malfunction laptop with Intel core duo T6500 processor and desktop with Pentium 4 3.0Gh with same 478 socket. I know that power consumption for laptop is lower than desktop, what happen to laptop processor if I just install in my desktop?

No. Used to be socket 754 amd could do this; virtually all newer machines have different socket types for laptops versus desktops. Most have different ram slots. So cpus and ram won't physically fit in the slot, and you may damage the motherboard.
