First time building a PC. Review what I have and help please!

This is my first time building a PC. I'm trying to build a strong gaming computer that will last a couple years atleast before needing to be upgraded. All the parts I found are on This is what I have so far:

Optical Drive: ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM
Bundled with CPU: $239.98

CPU fan: CORSAIR CWCH60 Hydro Series H60 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

GPU: EVGA SuperClocked 015-P3-1582-AR GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support

RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9

HDD: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

PSU: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 750W ATX12V v2.31/ EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC High Performance Power ...

Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 650D (CC650DW-1) Black Steel structure with black brushed aluminum faceplate ATX Mid Tower Computer

Total: $1429.60 and with rebates it is $1362.90

How does that look? Should I change some parts, can I do better in some areas? Is it a strong machine?
For the moniter, I have either the Samsung Syncmaster P2370HD or the Syncmaster B2030.
I still need to buy speakers, keyboard and mouse, and a headset. If anyone can recommend an affordable quality product for these, it would be great.
Also, any suggestions, comments, and criticism is greatly appreciated for the PC build.

  1. if you are just gaming, i would leave the mobo and can ge an p67 motherboard like an asrock p67 extreme
you can swaaps your memory with an cl8 one
    G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM

    same price ram.

you can get a full tower atx for less price

COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1 Black Steel/ Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

you can go with logitech gaming series. for mouse and keyboard.
    good luck
  2. Should I invest in some other cooling options? Do I have to buy more fans for the case?
Also, some people say to get a ssd for booting windows. How would I set that up?
  3. no, the case i listed has a very nice airflow so heat i think is not a concern.
adding more fans just make things more noisy.
yes , the people are absolutely right, ssd are nice for windows booting, get an 64 gb ssd , it will cost you arround 120$ but for gaming, the impact is little to no.
