Hey upgrading my current system

Memory 8GB DDR2 Ram
Intel® Core™2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz,LGA775
Cooler Master RC-690
Asus P5Q-PRO, LGA775/Intel P45/ATX 1
900W Greatwall
Sapphire HD 6970 2Gb
coolermaster 690 case

to

Intel 2600k - $325
Asus P8P67 Pro B3 - $195
G.Skill Ripjaws F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH (2x2GB) DDR3 - $49
G.Skill Ripjaws F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH (2x2GB) DDR3 - $49
Antec High Current Gamer 900W Power Supply HCG-900 - $157
Noctua NH-C14 All-In-One CPU Cooler - $ 91

Im keeping my case and hard drives.
Will this be a decent system for a while? will the noctua be suffiect for cooling, it was a toss up between that and the corsair H60 watercooling system. Which would be better? And is the 900w antec alright? im planing another 69070 down the track.

if it is for gammng, i will stick with your current cpu, it's still a solid cpu. a nice overclock 3+ ghz would be enough. the 6970 will handle any game you want max out.
but if it is for multitasking or video editing, surely get an i7.
but for gaming, just stick with what you have,
cheers

900watt is more than enough for running dual 6970's.

go with a highly rated air cooling, they work just as well as the corsair allin-one cooling systems, but cost 1/3 as much. The hyper 212+ is generally considered the best bang for the buck... at $30 it performs as well as the $60 coolers.

I agree that for now you're still fine for gaming. Hold off until the next generation of AMD comes out (bulldozer lineup) - supposed to be some pretty amazing CPU's for way cheaper than intel... probly Q1 2012.

the witcher 2 is a very heavy game and dont expect to max it out, bf3 on the otherhand is another story.just overclock your cpu and you should be fine.
wait until 2012, intel would show their ivy bridge and they will probably be a worthy upgrade.

manu would yu recommend the 6970 or the gtx 570 graphics card?
I cant decide.
My monitor will be 21.5 inches and at resolution of 1920x1080
I will never (maybe in like 5 years) play on more than one monitor.
Do 2 6970's work better or worse than 2 570's?

gtx 570 is better than the 6970 by a respectable margin ( in some games) and cost about the same.
at 1920x1080, a 6950 or a 560ti is just enough but for a little futureproofing, i will stick to the gtx 570.
here is a comparrison between gtx 570 and 6970 and in xfire and sli too.

it depends on the game you play, in some games, 6970 is faster and in some, the gtx570.

sli gtx 570 vs xfire hd 6970

i think 6970 is better than 570 in dual gpu configuration but it really depends on the game you play, between, just 1 6970 or 570 is more than enough for your resolution.
