I need some help regarding memory cards, graphics cards and high res. monitors.

I am an avid stamp collector and participate in on line auctions both here in North America and quite often world wide. It can be very competitive with speed and graphic accuracy a priority.

If it helps, my primary resource computer is a custom build:

. Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD7-B3 mobo
. i7 2600K (not overclocked) CPU w/cooler master cooler
. XFX Radeon 6950 graphics card
. Samsung 32" monitor
. 16GB Kingston Hyper X (4 x 4) memory cards
. Vertex 3 SSD primary drive
. WD 1t backup drive
. Plextor CD/DVD
. 1200W Cooler Master gold pwr. supply

So, there are times (when bidding on a collection) I need more memory, speed and very high resolution graphics.

Are single 8GB memory cards available ( I would like to have 32GB) and where can I resource them? What graphics cards would produce the highest resolution? What monitors are best suited for high res. graphics & photos. Should I be thinking about a workstation build?

I apologize for being so winded. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

1.what resolution is the monitor ?
2.get 2*4GB, 8GB is enough.
3.downgrade to i5-2500K
4.Avoid XFX, get something like Sapphire, been hearing a lot of bad things about them
5. I would avoid Cooler Master PSUs, they're not bad, but not as good as brands like Seasonic

Thank you for your informative reply.

I will look into your suggestions and get back to you.

1. 1920x1080
2. why downgrade to 8 GB?
3. why downgrade from an i7-2600K?
4. I run 3 XFX and 1 NVIDIA Graphics Cards, Is the Saphire a better card and why?
5. why are Seasonic PSU's better than Cooler Master?

I look forward to hearing from you.

1. Because u wont use more than 8GB for gaming
2. Because you wont need a Core i7 for gaming, the i5 is as good as the 2600K in any game
3. Sapphire's cards are known to be cheaper options and so far I've seen less posters on this forum complaining about their cards, as oppose to XFX's
4. Seasonic's PSUs are generally better than Cooler Masters and you wont need a 1200 watt PSU, a quality 600watt can already run 2*HD6950 in CFX
5. It's all about best price/performance, what's ur budget ?
6. What exactly are u planning to do with this build anyways ?

Thank you for your resonse.

Perhaps I was not expicit enough in my original posting or you read in another meaning.

1. I am not a gamer but wish I was. The 8GB may be good for gaming but not sufficient for my needs.
2. The i7 or higher is a better product for intensive graphics and speed capabilites.
3. You may have a good point.
4. I have never had a problem with Cooler Master, and I have no inclination to run 2 GPU's. My experience with "gamers" is that they tend to underpower their rigs
5. No, it's all about performance.
6. High resolution with high speed graphics. That is why in my original posting I asked if I should consider a Workstation build.

In any event, greghome, I believe I have resolved this issue.

I do want to thank you for your participation and helpfull insight.
