What drivers are necessary to install manually?

Hi All,

I'll be putting my FIRST build together tonight, and I have a question regarding which drivers I should download manually from ASUS's website for my motherboard.

I'm using the ASUS P8Z77-V LK

I know I need the Chipset, USB, LAN & Audio drivers... but should I also download the SATA, VGA drivers as well?

The Intel SATA drivers aren't strictly necessary but are highly recommended. The AMD/NVidia VGA drivers are required

You will also want to update the firmware ASAP

Ok, I'll include the Mobo SATA driver just to be safe. I'll certainly install the AMD graphics card driver, just wasn't sure if i needed the on board VGA driver too.

One (extremely newbish) question. When you say update the firmware, do you mean update to the lastest version of BIOS?

yes. BIOS is the old standard for PC motherboard firmware. It is being replaced by EFI so I just say firmware to avoid referring to one in particular.
