hello,
im planning on buying a new processor for my computer.
the one im looking at is an amd phenom II x4 965 black edition.
will this run with no problems on my current rig?

its an acer aspire x3400, it currently has:
athlon II x3 2.7
6gb ddr3 ram
sapphire radeon hd 5570 1gb
dvd/cd-rw
1tb hdd
220watt psu
win7 home premium

also is a phenom better than athlon for gaming on? not extreme graphics just good enough to play on.

thanks alot

lol cheers for that,
i did look on acer support before i posted this,
its just cos i got a graphics card aswell.
and with 220watt psu i didnt know if it would work ok.

anyway thanks alot

You are already pushing it with the GPU, a processor upgrade are the least of your worries with the strain you are putting on that PSU.

yes, it will support and compatible...

Click and check your board specification:

Also check amd phenom II x4 965 black edition specification:

Note: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE is the last limit of processor which supported by your motherboard (acer aspire x3400).
