Upgrade advice for Inspiron 546 MT

4g memory
64 bit os
1680x1050
(the dell site says the psu is 300w I cant be 100 sure since i havent opend my case)
Thats all the information I think you guys need, let me know of course if you need anything else.
Ok so I want to know If i can upgrade my card for better graphics, as is I play wow ultra settings cant be handled.

I just want to know if im better off saving to upgrade all together or spend $100 or so bucks on a card.

Or tell me what the motherboard can handle and I can find a card.

Radeon 5570 will run fine with that power supply, just make sure you have room in your case for it.

To run safely on a 300 watt PSU, yea. You can try the next one up, 5670, should be OK also, just can't be sure unless you measure your total system load now at full power and add 60w for the video card.

Remember that Dell measures their PSUs at continuos wattage not max
that dell 300 is equal to about 350-375 aftermarket supply

I have a Dell 280w running a OCd E4500,1 7200rpm HD,1 OCd HD4650,three 4 pin molex fans,1 asus dg sound card,4 sticks of ram and many USB devices
with no problems for 6 months 24/7

The HD5670 is easily the best choice for you at $80
I am buying it myself this month

Also the HD6670 is a good choice at $100
