Hi guys,

I am currently using my computer to play League of Legends..WoW a couple of other MMO's and COD.
Heres my current spec,

Intel Quad Q6600 2.4GHz Processor
Gigabyte G31M ES2L Mobo
EVGA GTX 260 Video Card
2x2 GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2(i think) RAM
1x 500 GB Seagate 7200 RPM HDD
1000W PSU Coolermaster ULtra

I have reason to believe the SATA ports on my Mobo are messed up. Im fairly happy with what the configuration above puts out but now that my board needs changing i thought whats the point of just changing the board. I might as well get a new gen processor and DDR3 RAM and what not. I am on a low budget however and would like some feedback on the changes im gonna propose.

AMD Athlon II X3 455 3.3GHz Triple-Core 95W AM3 in place of the Q6600
GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2P AM3+ 760G M-ATX
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333MHz
2 x 1 TB WD 7200RPM HDD

And keep everything else the same. The PSU and Card are fine for now however if the card does give up on i would love a suggestion for a new one.
My Biggest concern is the Processor im choosing doesnt feel like an upgrade but rather a downgrade..lol am i right? Im still a noob at building my own PC and this would be my 2 Build.
I look forward to your feedback. Thanks

its a series of Intel CPUs. i3-2100, i5-2500, and i7-2600 are the Sandy Bridge CPUs, its a series of cheap CPU that gives great performance. also gives overclocking abilities if you see a K after the name ( like i7-2600K). heres a nice table of CPU price vs performance chart for you. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/CPU/2
