Edit: Will x2 255 bottleneck 5770?

Hi,

If I get an x2 255 will it bottleneck my Radeon 5770?

And the Asus M4N68T-M V2, is it a suitable motherboard to go along with the x2 255? I read that I shouldn't choose a mobo with an onboard GPU. This one actually has an o/b GPU.. =x

  1. buy a PS3 if you really want decent gaming cheap.

also, telling us the budget you can work with would be also a big help .
  2. Hmm yeah I was thinking of reducing the $500 build even further. I think 5770 would be good enough for me. I expect just to play games at 1280*1024 on med-settings.
  3. AMD Athlon II X3 445 (3.1 GHz): $75
    AS Rock 760G: $48
    Mushkin 4 GB: $31 w/ $10 rebate
    Seagate 500 GB Drive: $40
    Zotac GTS 450: $110 w/ $30 rebate
    Rosewill R102 case: $30
    Xigmatek 400W 80+ Bronze: $35

    $369, $329 after rebates
  4. Anyone?

I posted a sub $400 build for you that will do games just fine at 1280x1024 or 1440x900. Give it a try.

Yeah, thanks anyway :p my local stores don't carry the particular processor and mobo you suggested. And I was reading that 5770 is a better bang for the buck than 450.
  8. Newegg has em, probly cheaper than the local store
