Will a HD 6670 fit in, and work on, my Dell 580 MT?

hi,

full ish specifications of my sistems are:

intel i3 550 3.2 4mb cache, 4gb ram, 320 gb hd 7200, 300w psu

The main problem I guess is the wattage but many people said that despite the 400w recommended, it should work even with the 300w psu. as I have seen this card seems not not drain a lot of energy. the room in the case may also be an issue since it is a mini tower..

Does somebody have tried?

many thanks

Do you have the slim one or the regular width one? I don't think there are any low profile 6670s out yet (although I've seen them in reviews I can't find any for sale) so if it's the slim one you would probably have to go with a low profile 5670 or wait a while till the low profile 6670s are for sale. Power wise you are probably fine, Dell usually has decent PSUs, the 400 watt recommendation is to be on the safe side for crappy PSU manufacturers.

i am mostly gonna play strategic games such as starcraft 2 and shogun 2, not planning on play the last mentioned at full potential either but based on my budget i figured out that the hd 6670 is a good deal, that could also last for some time.

anyways this is what i am getting, still waiting for it, i bought this one because the more pricy models came with crappy gpu
