Is it at all possible to connect a xbox 360 to a laptop with the right leads ?

No, is the quick answer. If your thinking about the HDMI input that is only an output meaning to a tv or something, it won't make your laptop into a screen for your xbox, I wandered this a bit ago :p

The M18x from Alienware has HDMI in I think. Otherwise, nope.

Yeah, the only laptops I heard of with HDMI-in are from Alienware. Not sure if it applies to all their laptops or just certain models.

IT DOES APPLY TO THE M17X AS WELL.I HAVE AN ALIENWARE M17X AND HAVE TRIED IT WITH PS3 AND XBOX.

WORKS FLAWLESSLY.AUDIO AND VIDEO VERY PRECISE WITHOUT ANY DELAYS.
THERE ARE ADAPTERS THAT CAN BE USED BUT WONT USUALLY WORK 100% WITH VIDEO AND AUDIO SYNC.ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE IS ALSO NEEDED TO PLAY GAMES.
