Already posted in the windows 7 forums, but since I think it maybe the GPU I'll post here also, shouldn't hurt, but anyways. I've been getting a BSOD lately, I think it may have something to do with the GPU, cause it only when something 3d or a video is running (youtube) is on the screen, also been getting display drivers failing, but I think I fixed that. Also have an 5870 1gb. I can run a game for about 2-3mins, sometimes even 20 before it artifacts, and BSOD's.

Heres the information on the shutdown.

Can we have the full list of your system specs? I don't know anything about BSODs, but something similiar was happening to my friends. Display driver crashing, BSODs, only when doing graphics intensive stuff. It ended up being under volted Ram.

Run Memtest 86 and see what happens.

Well heres the story, I had the 5870 in my main system before the motherboard started not working (sent off for RMA at the moment), but it was doing the same thing in that system also. But while that system is not running, I took the 5870 out and put it in my other rig. I took the 5870 out cause I thought it was BSOD it, cleaned it, put it back in my main rig, then the Asus motherboard didn't want to turn on anymore.. So I sent it off under warrenty and put the 5870 in the AMD rig.

My main rig:

Intel core i7 930 @ 4.0ghz
P6X58D-E Asus motherboard
XMS3 6gb memory
H70 watercooling.
ATI sapphire 5870 1gb.
Corsair tx650 PSU.
1TB, and 320gb HDD's.
Silverstone Raven RV02 case.

Other rig:

AMD phenom ii x4 920 @ 2.8ghz
Biostar TA790GX 128m
4gb ddr2 memory
Some cheapo cooler I bought to replace the stock one.
ATI 5870 (Did have a 4870)
Antec basiq 500watt, but I did put in the corsair one, cause I thought that would solve the problem.
1TB hdd.
CM storm Sniper

Sorry, I had to edit the post cause it came out weird.
