I assume you mean 2520 CDT not CBT.

The max memory is 160Mb, 32 fixed, 128Mb in 1 slot.

Sorry, yes I did of course. So any idea why it's only showing 64mb?
Obviously it's registering the new memory chip for it to show 64 as opposed
to 32

What memory are you using? Have you any part numbers etc which identifies
it?

I think that you need:

128MB Toshiba Satellite 300 series Low-Profile EDO SODIMM Part No. NW2054U

The chipsets in some of the older Toshiba (and other) laptops will only
recognize half of the module (or none at all) if the architecture of the
memory module and the chips on the module is newer than that supported
by the chipsets. Conversely, there are a few (very few) 256 meg modules
that will work in these machines, even though 128 meg was the documented
max, if the machine will physically accept them (they need to have 16
chips, and the 16-chip SO-DIMM modules are slightly oversize). All of
this makes buying memory for these machines very, very problematic, you
almost cannot be sure if a given module will or will not work without
actually trying it.
