FSX -- how wil AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core do

I have an AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core with 4 gigs of RAM. How well will this run Flight Simulator X and FSX with the Accelerator add-in?

FSX tends to be highly GPU intensive as opposed to CPU intensive. Don't get me wrong, the CPU matters, but not nearly as much as the GPU.

Your processor should have no problem keeping up with the game as long as you have a solid GPU.

itzdanielp: thanks for the information. I looked into my system using Aida and it has nothing under GPU. The only thing I find under display is:

Do I have to upgrade that instead of the CPU?

It's kind of one of those things where you are going to need to update both to get good performance. But I would definitely upgrade your Video Card (GPU) first, then upgrading your CPU when you get a chance.

I would suggest either an ATI Radeon HD 6950 / 6970
or an nVidia GeForce GTX 560ti / 570
