Do i have enough power?

Im looking to upgrade my system and Im not sure whether or not I need to buy a new power supply. Right now I have a tx650. The new system would be a i7-2600k in a gigabyte z68 ud5, 8gb corsair dominator and a 580gtx. It would also be running about 8 120mm fans (corsair h100 push pull). Id also like to have enough room to overclock. Most of the power supply calculators out there tell me Ill need about 900w. That just seems high to me. Any thoughts?

Well, GTX580 pulls max 250W i believe, with 95W for the i7 leaves you 305W, plenty of headroom for the rest of your system.

What about the H100 pump and the other fans? Any idea what they would be using?

corsairs a good make your tx650 will most likely run that ok

dont know about the pump but the two fans on the radiator fans are 4w each

650w I believe is the recommended for a GTX 580 so you should be fine, over-clocking included

As said above, Corsair is a solid manufacturer so I wouldn't expect any issues

900w-1000w is recommended for SLI 580's.

Is there anyway to test how much power its using? Other than just adding up the listed max wattage?

like i said, you have plenty of headroom for everything else in there. If that H100 uses more than 120W i would be very surprised.

Buy a Kill A Watt EZ the Egg and plenty of places sell them.

only other way is once its all put together you can use a watt meter to measure the power draw
