I need help picking one out. Which card performs better? GTX 260 or the Radeon HD 5670

Link to the 5670 : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I play HL2 Engine based Source games by VALVe. No Crysis or any high demanding games.

1440x900 resolution.

Thank You :wahoo:

GTX260 is the better performer. 5670 uses less power and supports DX11. (which valve doesn't use.) If your PSU can handle it, get the GTX260.

Do you think a 500W PSU can handle the GTX 260? Also, are their any better video cards out there thats under $90?

you would need a GOOD quality 500w psu to handle a gtx260. what make and model is your psu. but yes the gtx260 is about equivelant to a 5770 in performance minus the dx11 features.

A diablotek 500W PSU? Not a chance. As crowe mentioned a good 500W PSU should be fine. Without knowing who made your PSU I wouldn't say if it could handle the GTX260 or not.

$90? Where are you getting the GTX260 for $90? You could probably find a 5770 for around $90 after rebate. If you don't mind buying used the 5770 and even the GTX460 have started to hit $80-90 on the used forums.

I am thinking about buying a gtx 460 1gb Sonic Overclocking Edition. Used that is, for $110. But My CPU (AMD Athlox 64 X2 4400+ 2.3GHz) is so bad, i heard it limits the full potention of the GTX 460

That is a pretty low CPU. I'd get the GTX460 if you will be upgrading your system soon. Otherwise you are better off getting something lower down.

Will GTX260 be a better option or a 9800GTX+? Thanks!!

I know a pisspoor 650w PSU can't handle a single GTX 260, my BFG 650w failed hardcore, but it was anything except high end. A Good 500w will do well.
