Cpu Fan works, fan above does not, cpu fan error

Built my first computer.
When I turn it on, I receive a cpu fan error message.
I took of the side and the fan on the heatsink is working fine but attached to my case is another fan, which doesn't spin. But that's only connected to the psu not the mobo so i don't see how the bios could know that it wasn't working.
It gives me the option to carry on anyway. If the fan is spinning should i just leave it and carry on?
Thanks
Jamie

  1. Do you have the cpu fan plugged into the appropriate header? its possible you have it plugged into a system fan header instead of the cpu fan header.
