AMDFx-6100, i5 2500k, or AMD Fx-8120

Hello, please help me choose a cpu for my new pc, i like mostly download stuff converting video, wathc movies, and 3d movies, i was goign for the amd fx-6100, but now i dont know what to choose, on, i5 250k, amd fx-8120 ,, or any other surggetion please help me out beeing on thise for almost 3 days to decide wth cpu to get.. thank you

ok men thank you very much. can u suggest a good video card, not that expensive. for 3d movies and play. also you think if i could afford i7 2600k go fo it? i don't wan't to play games. (MAYBE JUST A GAME BUT I DONT THINK) Thanks

If you don't game you don't need the 2500K. The 2100 or 2400 would work fine. GT430 for 3D movies. Bad gaming card but best for 3D stuff.

Why would he want a 2100 if he is converting video?

I would go with the x6 1090 or the X6 1075. If your not gaming, those are the best chips in that price range.

I would answer Falcon but I'm tired of dancing with him. Yes there are issues with Quicksync, but they are being addressed. (FFDshow anyone?) And the 2100 can make sense as it gives you access to QS.

if all your heavy usage will be video converting a phenom x6 makes sense as its much cheaper than a 2500k and is its equal in multithreaded apps

if the computer is for rendering get the 1100t
if its for gaming get the 2500k
under no circumstances get the 8120
if you get the 1100t get an am3+ motherboard for it just incase piledriver is good

I say go with the 2500k or the i5 2400 as 4745454b said. Not sure why everyone is saying 1100t, 1075t, etc....

the 2500k and 1100t are fast now and that is what matters, do you really want to spend £80 on a new windows installation lose all your settings so your processor MIGHT be faster than one which is much cheaper(1100t)

That may be true, but Windows 8 isn't even out yet. Plus, with a 2500k, you can get a decent aftermarket cooler and OC it, giving you even better render times. And finally, you have an upgrade path to some of the better LGA1155 CPU's when they come out, if the 2500k isn't cutting it for you, down the road.

fair enough the 2500k is fantastic and is good in all areas, whereas the 1100t is only really good in multithreaded applications, enjoy your processor

Despite bulldozers launch issues, the 8120 is a fine chip. Problem is that its overpriced. You will get similar performance from the X6 1090 for less money.
