Wake On Lan...but apparently not from shutdown!

Hi!

I've been trying to set up WoL over my local LAN network.

So far it's been relatively productive. The target computer has WoL enabled in the BIOS, the network card is set to listen for a magic packet, and is set to wake from shutdown. So, the computer should now wake from both sleep and shutdown.

However, whenever I send the magic packet over when it's shutdown I get nothing. :( If the computer is asleep, it works no problems!

I've had a look at the power settings in the BIOS but nothing strikes me as out of place.

Can anyone shed any light on the situation?

Many Thanks

Motherboard: ASUS P7P55D-E, with built in Realtek PCIe GBE Network Adapter

Hi cbviking,

I did, and still nothing happened. However, I enabled "Power On By PCI Devices" and it now works. I'm not sure I understand why since the hardware tells me it's PCIe and it's using a WHQL PCIe driver.

Thank you for your advice!

Whatever next? Enable "Power On By Keyboard" so I can boot up from a mouse? :D
