Thanks a lot for the info,

I am personally waiting for the BD opteron to come to life at same vendor then check on benchmarks in hope it might surpass the FX series for workstation use with Autodesk products and a V7900

Depending on the software it may be a good option.

all Autodesk are 2012 versions,
Max, Softimage, Mudbox, Motion builder.
Then of course I use Photoshop a CS4 and CS5 nd also Painter XI, Premiere pro, After effect, Mocha.
Crysis Engine and UDK for the pleasure of level design, cinematic, and animation.

Now the point is not to have an overkill beast but you must know that I short tempered and everything must run in multi instance and super smooth. That is why the V7900 come into play...
Slightly slowler than Quadro 4000 in some instances but you can't beat 6 displays. Beside with a samsung 3D capable that is not certified for ATI but fully compatible according to user/buyers on neweeg.

too late. just ordered a phenom II 955 for $120 with a $15 off promo code. did get an am3+ socket tho so i'm set for upgrades.......i hope.
