My rig is in my sig im pretty sure, but right now I'm running QUAD sli GTX 295's and I can OC them fairly nicely with a volt mod. (I only OC my cpu/gpu when I need to, its usually stock, and if it is OC i only OC for a couple of hours when I run the game that requires it).

The problem is I can't really run DX11 games and about a third of the games I play have no full SLI support, so I'm limited in those games to one of my GPU's on one of my GTX 295's.

Also, in Shogun 2 total war, even if I overclock my processer, and my video cards, at the highest setting, (dx 9) without AA and SSAO, I get like 10 fps sometimes. I'm pretty sure it uses all four of my GPU's, if not optimally.

So its been bringing me to want to try to sell my GPU's for about $200-250 (USD) each, and buy 2x GTX 580's for about $500 each.

You guys think I'll feel a bit of a performance boost? IF I can sell the videocards, the money won't be a problem. I just got a new job that pays decently and I usually don't buy myself anything else, like TV, no consoles, nothing. My computers my hobby xD.

SLI's a good upgrade I still think, but quad SLI feels like im not utlizing 100% of both my GTX 295's on most games, therefore my FPS suffers.

I can run games like Crysis 1 with 70 FPS when im OC'ed at 1920x1200 on max settings and 8x AA, but games like Assassin's creed brotherhood I suffer since SLI isn't compatible yet.

What do you guys think?

I mean if your willing to spend $1000 obviously they are better, I think 580SLI is what they used for the new Unreal engine demo so they are future proof. However, since your talking about that king of money why not wait for "GTX 595" http://wccftech.com/2011/05/18/asus-announce-gtx-595-ares-mars-computex-2011/

Hmm, i dunno, if that card prices around 700 itself, a 40-50% increase in cost wouldn't appeal to me too much...

If I can be rid of my 295's for around 200$, then i'd only be spending about 600$ on the 580's.

I think I may just sell both my 295's, get one 580, and then wait for kepler and get two 680's or something...

I just am starting to realize how much SLI scaling effects me on more games than I thought I would be effected on.
