$100 does not buy much at retail these days but you may get lucky on the second hand market and the most there you can get is a 4850/70 or a gtx 260. Retail $100 can only get you a gt240 or a 5670 at the most.
Do yourself a favor and done get the 5670. I tried running Witcher 2 on it and the performance is ridiculous. On medium and anything bigger than 1440X900, you wont get past 30 FPS, with most of the good stuff disabled.Add another 50 and get yourself a 5850 for that.I am replacing my card today for the exact same reason.
Yeah i have 2 sapphire 4890's in xfire upgrading next month only looking for 100 for both, im in australia tho
I think that you might have no problem getting them sold and that will help you out by having a larger budget on top what you said that you had already or so I have read. $300 can get you a single more powerful card over than what two 4890 can offer.
After reading this post with this gentlemen who wanted to replace his mobo (I have no idea how to find the type/brand of mobo I have) I was wondering if buying a new video card might be a problem or are mobos really not that bottlenecking. Ive also upgraded the PSU around 2-3 years ago the same time I got a 8800 300ish mb card.
Any suggestions on where to upgrade for me on a strict budget?
One of the things that makes this game look so good, but also kills the cards is the texturing. So much of it, so large of a sample, and then overlay any lighting/shading effects. My point being, don't buy a card with less than 1Gb of VM.
