Hello Forum! I am planning to upgrade my hardware in my computer today or tomorrow. But before buying, I chose the two that were both in price range and looked really nice. Here is just a small sample of my specs.
MotherBoard: M2N68-LA (Narra5) *It came with the CompaQ Presario CQ5500Y, It's an Exclusive MotherBoard*
Memory: 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400 MB/sec
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT430 *Galaxy Technology*
I don't know if the Motherboard and Memory I chose were good going along with my specs that I have, but I am hoping to get a quick response to start my order now and have it process the delivery quicker.
And I don't know what my Hard Drive is. But it's a SATA Hard Drive. It's not an SSD.
Be aware that compaq windows installations only work with compaq motherboards, so you may need to purchase a new copy of windows. I would measure the inside of the case carefully; your new board may be a tight fit. The compaq case connection lead is typically a single plastic 9 pin variety. You may want to download the board manual before you even order it and check the pin diagram. The gigabyte board should work fine with the kingston ram you selected. You may sell your old compaq board and ram on craigslist or anandtech as a combo or include the original windows installation with it. I backed up my old compaq windows installation on dvd's; this will add value to your combo.
