Well. You need to purchase an entirely new motherboard if you want to upgrade to bulldozer in the future. The motherboard supports up to AM3 cpu and you want motherboards with AM3+ support [backward compatible with AM3]. What are you going to be using the system for anyway?

Gaming. But I have recently stumbled upon a different pc.

(I would also need to add windows 7 to the purchase which would come to £580)

If you have to choose between the two, the one with the nVidia 460 is better than the one with the 5770. The 6 cores won't set much of a differences as games don't usuall use more than 2-4 cores to begin with.
