Monitor fades to black (more info)

Hardware: 25" 1080P I-INC LCD
GTX 560 ti


Have yet to try a different monitor. This monitor is only a year or 2 old so i dont see it going bad..... I tried both DVI chord and HDMI; Same results. Screen slowly fades to black on startup or randomly after i play a game etc... Tried to change frequency 59-60 hrz still nothing. Id like to avoid buying a new monitor because ive already spent obscene amounts on other parts for my custom build. If someone is having the same problem or can help walk me through this and resolve it. It would be much appreciated! Thank you.

So, the monitor starts out okay, but then fades afterward. Is that correct? If so, go into your menu and restore to its default condition (see if it offers any diagnostics as well). However, in all likelihood, a new monitor is in your future, even if the monitor is under warranty.

Correct. The monitor displays the bios and windows load screen, once my desktop loads it proceeds to dim to black.

That's what I found about that monitor... The contrast ratio is very low, so you could try adjusting it with the color correction settings inside the nVidia Control Panel.

I replaced the monitor with an older one. Looks like the one i was using was defective. thank you for the help!
