X79 -ud3 sound

I Have a month old gigabyte x79-ud3 it has an alc 898
audio chip
i have one set of speakers plugged in to the green port usually , a week or so ago it started disconnecting and then reconnecting instantly , but now the audio is cutting out, the front panel green port seems to work fine with headphones and the back also has disconnections.
please help.

oh, and also , I tried retasking the microphone jack to be the speaker, ..... same problem

If it's possible then try using a System Restore Point before you 'corrupted' the driver/settings.

Otherwise completely uninstall the Audio drivers (see example below) then re-install.
