I am looking to buy a new case, and I was wondering if any of you had recomendations. I want a BIG, high quality case, with at least a 300 watt AMD approved power supply. I plan on modding the case so I want to keep it through many hardware upgrades. I don't want to spend more than $200. I've heard a lot of great things about the Addtronics cases, so I'm currently leaning toward the 7896A case.

thanks for your help...

Not sure whether this fits your particular criteria. I have a couple of Liteon FS020 cases. They're not particularly high, but are really wide...each has 4-5 1/4" and 2-3 1/2" external bays (and some internal). I use them because I'm not interested in case modding and the case can accomodate 2-12cm. rear exhaust fans and 1-12cm front intake fan. Aside from a few "issues" the FS020 is a great case. If you're interested, you can get one at:

You may want to consider the Supermicro SC760-A. I have had an earlier version of this case for over 2 years with no problems.

The SC760-A is a full tower ATX case with a 300w (or 400w) power supply. It ships with 2 exhaust fans in addition to the p/s fan (which is also redundant). According to PriceWatch, the 300w model is ~$150 and the 400w is ~$200.

You can see the specs at <A HREF="http://www.supermicro.com/PRODUCT/Chassis/sc760A.htm" target="_new">http://www.supermicro.com/PRODUCT/Chassis/sc760A.htm</A>.

try fong kai fk603 at directron.com
comes w/ a 300w athlon approved p/s, it's big plenty of exhaust, has a built in duct that mounts over the heatsink, and the drive cages pop out to change stuff around. it's not real expensive either, 98$ before you start getting bigger fans or p/s.

I've got a NIKAO case, costed me about USD$60, and its got four 5-inch bays and one 3-inch bay (all external, there are more internally). It's great for modding (I've got the X-Jazz, with a window and 1x120mm fan) and the prices are right... check out www.nikao.net ... Or if price isn't an issue, check-out some Chieftech or Antec cases, those are nice, and i'm not positive about prices, so check-em out and come back to me with a model number and I can price it for ya if you like.

yeah im gonna buy a Lian Li for my new setup..

But when i go on there site there is like 10 models that look the same but with different prices...

different fans, different grills, a few small changes to each, so now i gotta see which is the one i want.. I really didn't wanna spend like 160 on a case, but that looks like what im going to have to do..

there are some really nice case features tho..
excellent air flow, 3 fans, one in front, back , and TOP.., SLIDE out MOBO TRAY.. that's a cool feature.. very durable, awesome looking, the list goes on and on..thumb screws on almost everything.. just wish the price was alittle lower, but you get what you pay for!

The Antec 1080 is a dependable choice. 430W power supply built in, and EXTREMELY heavy duty. (You can stand on its side, and it wont warp)

Weighs about 36 pounds empty, however, if weight is an issue.

MSRP ~$115 USD
