Acer aspire 5735 battery problem

Hello,
guys i have acer aspire 5735. I'VE BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY FOR IT BUT THE SYSTEM DOES NOT DETECT THE NEW BATTERY THOUGH IT POWERS THE SYSTEM WHEN UNPLUGGED, BUT THE AMBER LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY BLINKS AND THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER ICON SHOWS "BATTERY NOT DETECTED". MY SYSTEM NEVER GAVE SUCH PROBLEM BEFORE WITH PREVIOUS BATTERY. I NEED AN EXPERT SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM PLEASE.

Most probably a bad battery if it's not from the company.
What you can do is , leave it plugged in for the night without switching on the laptop.
Plug in the Battery, plug in the power supply.
Let it charge overnight.
Do not try to switch on the laptop at all for the next 12 hours.
After 12 Hrs of charging. Disconnect the laptop from the mains power and see if it comes on.
