The Intel sandybridge processors are well ahead of AMD's current processors in multimedia applications.

If you can spend a little more then
Intel Core i5-2400 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz
H67 chipset mother board
2 x4 gig of RAM

If you do build with AMD then be sure to buy an AM3+ motherboard that can use their next generation processors that are being released in september .

If you're still going to stick with AMD processors, go for the 955. You can easily overclock it to 3.4GHz stable with stock HSF and it's cheaper (I've heard the 955 being able to overclock better than the 965 as well.).

Also, what is your resolution? What is your budget? Where do you prefer your parts to be ordered from?
