Hello
I got used armada e500 with 600 mhz p3-m onboard. Unfortunately there is a
problem with overheating cpu when I run apps which require much cpu power
(like Prime95). I takes minute or two of intense noise from cpu cooler (so
it appers that cpu cooler is working) and then laptop suddenly shutds down.
after few minutes it can be turned on again. I don't know where is the
problem because CPU cooler seems to be runnig fine and there is no dust
around fan and radiator.(i also checked and radiator seems to have good
contact with surface of the cpu die.
Regards
Lukas

You need to figure out the CPU temperature at idle and just before
shutdown. Presumably your laptop CPU has a temp sensor. Try a free
Windows program called Motherboard Monitor, see if it will install on
your computer.
The CPU may indeed be overheating, but you need to verify that.

Ok, thanks for answer. I'll try.
I noticed one thing - if it is working at 500 mhz (low voltage mode)
it works fine and i can run prime as long as i want but when it runs at 600
mhz (performance mode)
as I wrote - i takes less than 2 minutes to shutdown the system
